Growing Up in Lakeview: A Journey Through the 60s, 70s, and 80s
About
Lakeview, Long Island, was more than just a neighborhood—it was a community, a family, and a battleground for change. Growing up there as a 13-year-old Black youth in the late 1960s was a mix of joy, challenge, and discovery. It was a time when the world was shifting, and we were right in the middle of it, trying to figure out who we were and where we fit in.
